Understand the Exam Pattern of WBJEE 2019

As you all know that West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination or WBJEE 2019 is an offline state-level examination which is conducted once in a year. The qualifying certificate of this examination provides admission into various top universities of West Bengal for Engineering, Architecture, and Pharmacy courses. More than 1 lakh students participate in this examination every year. And the selection for Admissions is done through Cutoff which is calculated on the basis of the candidate’s result. To get selected for the Admission Process it is important for all the candidates to become aware of the Exam Pattern apart from knowing the WBJEE Syllabus 2019. Only objective type questions are going to be asked in this examination and the total duration of the exam is 2 hours for each paper.   • The tentative date for the commencement of the exam is the 4th week of April 2019. The exact date will be soon released by the exam conducting authority.
  • The mode of the examination is offline only. The students will get an OMR Sheet n the examination.
  • The questions that will be asked in the exam are going to be in MCQ type format. You are supposed to select the correct option out of 4 different options. You have to darken the oval for the correct option with a ballpoint pen on the OMR Sheet. You can cut or change the answer if you have already darkened one oval for the question. Also, don’t colour two options for one questions. In that case, the complete question will be rejected from your answer sheet.
  • The subjects that will come in the exam are Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. There are going to be 155 questions in total where 40 questions will be asked from Physics, 40 questions will be asked from Chemistry, and 75 questions will be asked from Mathematics. Each subject will be divided into three categories: Category 1, Category 2, and Category 3.
  • The total marks for the examination are 200. +1 for every correct answer in Category 1 and +2 for every correct answer in Category 2 and Category 3. You will lose 1/4th mark for every incorrect answer in Category 1 and Category 2. There is no negative marking for an incorrect answer in Category 3.
  • The total duration is 4 hours. The candidates belonging to PwD category will get an extra 20 minutes for completing the paper.
  • For a good result in the exam, it is important that your solve lots of WBJEE Sample Papers 2019 which you can easily get on the internet. Choose good and known reference books for collecting study materials for the exam. Make notes and diagrams according to your suitability so that you can retain things in your mind for a long time. Keep those notes safely for the last minute preparation before the exam.
  •  Make a timetable for your daily routine and strictly follow it till the last day before your exam. Look after your health and drink lots of water so that you feel fresh while studying. Take a break in between the study hours to kill the fatigue.
  • Don’t get unnecessarily stressed. Stay calm and be confident about your knowledge and preparation. No one can stop you from gaining good marks if you give the exam confidently.
